Thanks REI

Methow Trails is honored to have received a $5000 check from REI today to help with our work on increasing the care and access to Methow Valley outdoor recreation.  We are using this additional funding towards the work we have been doing on the Methow Valley Community Trail.

We added a new bridge this spring, added trail surfacing, and leveled out many parts of the trail.  The main goal of this work is to provide a better skiing, fat biking trail and snowshoe system in the winter but access to this trail is year-round also providing a hiking and biking trail from Winthrop's town edge to connector trails at Sun Mountain and Mazama. Thank you REI for your support!

Bridge & Trail Enhancements: June 13

We could use a hand with a bridge over troubled waters.  Ok it's not troubled waters but rather the beautiful Methow River.....

Saturday, June 13 from 8am to 12noon our Trails Manager Jon Albright is enhancing the o-so-popular Tawlks-Foster Suspension Bridge by shoring up the railings.  Jon could really use some assistance with this project and with some trail surfacing work on both ends of the bridge.

If you can spare a little time for the trails, please meet Jon at the Suspension Bridge Parking Lot off Goat Creek Road at 8am. Bring along some water, snacks, gloves and sunscreen.  Tools will be provided by Methow Trails.

Give us a call at the office if you have any questions.  509-996-3287

Free Skiing for Season Pass Holders of Any Area

The Methow Valley ski trails are open and continue to have great cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking. Beginning February 17, we invite ski season pass holders from any alpine or nordic ski area in North America to join us for a day on the trails for FREE.

Ski season pass holders simply need to stop into the Methow Trails office at 309 Riverside Avenue, Winthrop, WA during normal business hours, show a valid 2015 season pass from any alpine or nordic ski area* in the US or Canada and we will provide you with a ticket to ski for free, for one day, on the Methow Valley cross-country ski trails. This offer is not good from any other Methow Trails ski vendor, rather only redeemable at the Methow Trails office. One pass, per person for one day of skiing this season. This offer is good for the remainder of this ski season. Methow Trails office hours for this promotion are Monday-Friday 9:00am - 3:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 10:00am-2:00pm.

Methow Trails salutes skiers that make an investment in snow sliding activities. A season pass is a great show of support for your favorite ski area and Methow Trails wants to add value to your investment during a winter that has been trying for many.

Methow Trails is North America’s largest cross-country ski area with over 120 miles of perfectly groomed trails where kids 17 and under ski free everyday. The Methow Trails nordic system also has selected trails open and available to fat biking and snowshoeing.

Daily grooming reports with real time GPS trail updates can be found at methowtrails.org, via the free Methow Trails app or by calling 509-996-3860. A full schedule of events and activities can also be found on our website at methowtrails.org.
